One of the most moving way I ever heard in singing this utterly spiritual aria, by Georg Friedrich Haendel (from "Cantata con stromenti").
In the same record of classical singing, Barbra Streisand is also fantastic, when she sings "In trutina", from "Carmina Burana", by Carl Orff.

To be fair, I hear about the same amount of vibrato here as in the Heynis rendition--not all classical singers overdo it.

I agree completely with hootersnooter. Barbera sings this beautifully, naturally, gently. Splendid, out of this world.......love it!!! I loved this song the first time I heard it on her album 'Classical Barbera' as a young girl in the 80's and 20 years on, I am still captivated and moved by her performance. I love it even more now!
